Ms. Lillian Thomas Passes Away on April 17, 2012

Beloved Ms. Lillian Thomas passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 around 3:00PM, following complications from a massive stroke the previous Sunday evening. For decades, Miss Lillian was the face of ASFA at the “dorm desk” a member of the Child Nutrition staff, and ultimately the Reception Desk. A memorial service was held in the Dorothy Jemison Day Theater on Monday, April 23. It was a packed house. Miss Lillian touched so many lives, and was always ready with a kind smile and loving words for students, staff and faculty alike. She could put worried parents, fidgety students, or edgy faculty to rest in a heartbeat with only a wink and a smile. And who could resist that warm feeling when you heard her say those two words, "Hello, sweetheart." Ms. Lillian, we miss you.
