Dear Fellow ASFA Parent:
We’re guessing you’re the kind of parent who would do anything for your child. We all are. But we’re better as a group.
So we’re asking you to join the ASFA Parent Teacher Student Organization. And we promise we won’t ask you to sell anything – no cookies, no candy and no gift-wrap.
The PTSO is an association of parents and teachers under the leadership of parents. It is a resource for you and your child. We focus on the education, safety and well-being of all our children. Each year we host a series of programs with information you can use – here at ASFA, in your home and as you prepare your children to head off to college.
PTSO General Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. These meetings are only an hour long (including the time spent drawing for the door prize). And it’s time well spent.
The dates and programs for the 2007-2008 school year are: TO COME…
The PTSO sponsors several events throughout the year including an Open House to welcome new and returning students to ASFA. This year it will be Sunday, August 7. There also is a chili cook-off where parents of kids from different specialties can compete or just taste and talk. PTSO also puts together a holiday luncheon in December to show our appreciation for our teachers. Last year we ran the Bizarre Bazaar.
Your PTSO is funded solely by your membership dues – $30 per family. With your membership, you’ll get a School Directory and discounts on “ASFA wear.” But more importantly, you’ll be supporting ASFA – helping to make our great school even better. And you won’t have to coerce your co-workers or neighbors into buying more gift-wrap!
The ASFA PTSO is all we’re selling here. We hope you’ll buy in.
Most sincerely,
The ASFA PTSO Board
