Susan McCain

Susan earned an MFA in Theatre from the University of Alabama with an Emphasis in Performance and Movement. She served Jacksonville State University—teaching and directing over seventy productions during her tenure. There, she built Th’PROMISE—an African-American theatre group. Susan has co-chaired both the Movement and Acting/Directing committees for SETC, published with “Southern Theatre,” adjudicated collegiate performances for the Kennedy Center Association for College Theatre, and presented intensives to comprise “Creative Culture—Developing Th’ BURNING” and “The Real Method” with Anna Strasberg.
A member of SAG/AFTRA & Actors’ Equity, Susan worked and studied professionally on the west coast—coordinating Screen Actors Guild with The American Film Institute, working with notables such as Kathy Fields Lander and Sean Penn, and performing with Aaron Spelling, Saul Bass, ABC, and NBC productions.
Susan studied with the legendary Lee Strasberg who became her mentor. His tutelage remains at the heart of her work—revealing simple yet immense truths of the human condition. An LSTFI Approved teacher, Susan “celebrates the art within each of us and facilitates its most pure and profound expression.” (NYC FRINGE Bio) Susan recently portrayed The Beloved Woman CHEPI in UNION by Whitney Hamilton,
