Welcome to my class! Classes I currently teach include Advanced Studies in U.S. History II, 7^th grade World Geography, & 7^th grade Civics. 

 

The 2021-'22 school year will be my 6th year at ASFA, but I have over 20 years of teaching experience. After receiving my degree from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), I taught elementary school for several years. More recently, I've taught Junior High & High School English, Reading & Social Studies, AP US History, AP European History, Law Studies, Humanities, and Honors American Literature while also serving as Department Chair for Social Studies and English Departments. For approximately 7 years, I co-owned a computer training company, working as a Microsoft Certified Trainer and offering classes to corporate clients including Exxon, Dow Chemical, & numerous state and federal agencies. After selling that business, I decided to return to the K-12 classroom which is my true passion.

 

My goal is to help students make connections between historical and current events, broadening students' world views and helping them create a clear, cohesive historical narrative.
