Degrees and Certifications:
V. Anton Spraul
When I was a boy, my father bought me a VIC-20 computer that I hooked up to a blurry Philco television. I've been hooked on computing ever since. I have degrees in computer science from Birmingham-Southern College and UAB. After getting my M.S., I taught computer science via distance education for many years. My students came from every kind of background and lived all over the world, and I loved teaching them. More recently, I've been writing books about computing. My most popular book is Think Like a Programmer, which helps people develop their problem-solving skills as programmers. The book is a distillation of my teaching philosophy--that the most important thing for programming students to develop is the ability and confidence to think through a solution to any problem, given time and effort.
