ASFA Math-Science Chemists Win State Title in the 2023 You Be the Chemist Competition (YBTC)

The Challenge is an exam and research project-based competition hosted by the Chemical Educational Foundation (CEF) in which teams of 5th-8th grade students explore chemistry concepts and the role of those concepts in their community.

Participants took part in a national chemistry exam competition earlier this year, where they answered timed questions relating to chemistry concepts as well as submitted a research project video and storyboard expanding on those concepts. Over ten thousand students from schools across the nation participated.
