ASFA Students to Perform in 2022 World Games Youth Choir

ASFA students Kendall Thompson and Nalin Reed have been selected to perform in the World Games 2022 Youth Choir for the opening and closing ceremonies and to record for the official theme song of The Games.

Kendall Thompson, ASFA music student, and Nalin Reed, ASFA theatre arts student, were chosen as “elite” members of the World Games 2022 Youth Choir. On September 11, 2021, they will be recording audio and video with other select students for the official theme song of The Games. The theme song was composed by Dr. Henry Panion III, World Games 2022 Artistic Director, and Randy Owen of the group Alabama.

“This is an incredible opportunity to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event,” Dr. Panion said. “The wonderful talent of Birmingham’s youth will be showcased around the world on the global stage of the opening and closing ceremonies, plus the World Games 2022 theme song. How exciting is that?”

This is an enormous honor as only 27 7th-12th grade students were selected for the World Games 2022 Youth Choir. Join us in congratulating ASFA music student Kendall Thompson and theatre arts student Nalin Reed!
