Good morning! These are your morning announcements. 
 
Congratulations to 8th grade Math Science students on participating in 2021-2022 You Be The Chemist Challenge! The Chemical Educational Foundation (CEF) announced that more than 9,000 students from 200 middle schools across the Nation competed in the Challenge this year. We had five teams from ASFA Math-Science Department competing in the challenge, and one of our teams was announced the state winner for Alabama!

Please look for your lost and found items in the cafeteria! Any items left after next Friday, May 27 will be donated.  

Also, please be sure to completely clean out your locker before the end of the semester next week. 

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and have created an interesting product to sell, ASFA wants to support and encourage you by holding a Student Entrepreneur Fair on Thursday, May 19th during Homeroom/Lunch. At this event, you will be able to sell your merchandise to students, faculty, and staff.   Merchandise cannot be food or drink items, but it can be jewelry, accessories, artwork, etc. This will be a cash-only event, and purchasers will pay you directly. Sign up if you're interested in showcasing and selling your work! There are only 15 slots available, so sign up early! The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, May 17th , and you can sign up through the link below.

Camp CSI Birmingham is looking for participants. This forensic science camp will be held at UAB from June 20-24. The cost is $350 and the first 20 students to register will be included. Organizers say ignore the May 31 deadline and just apply by going to https://www.uab.edu/cas/criminaljustice/camps/camp-csi/registration 

Tomorrow is your final chance to purchase ASFA merchandise this school year.  The ASFA merchandise store will be open from 4 pm – 5 pm for anyone who wants to buy a t-shirt, hoodie, etc. before the next school year arrives. Payment with cash or check is preferred. 

Don’t forget the Youth Job Fair on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. Over 25+ employers will be hiring students for summer jobs, paid internships, and part-time, and full-time employment.  Leaders of Excellence will be giving away gift cards, free food, and refreshments. To participate, register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/building-leaders-career-expo-tickets-331725248147.
