Good morning! These are your morning announcements.
On Saturday, May 14th, Music Department students participated in the Magic City Clarinet Festival Solo Competition sponsored by the Birmingham Music Club at the University of Montevallo. Jasmine Young (10th grade clarinet major) won first place in the high school division, and Andrew Roberts (11th grade clarinet major) was runner up. ASFA music alum K'mya Burrell won the college/emerging artist division. Dr. Janssen was also one of the guest artists who performed a recital and gave a masterclass during the event.
Then on Sunday, May 15th several ASFA students competed in an International Talent Hunt sponsored by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. The talent hunt selected a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner and it was a total ASFA sweep! All 3 will advance to the next round in the Talent Hunt.
1st Place: Darrina Johnson, 9th grade piano major
2nd place: Jasmine Young, 10th grade clarinet major
3rd place: Andrew Robertson, 11th grade clarinet and saxophone major

Driver's Ed students must turn in their driving logs to Coach T by today to receive credit.
Please look for your lost and found items in the cafeteria! Any items left after next Friday, May 27 will be donated.
Also, please be sure to completely clean out your locker before the end of the semester next week.
Everyone is invited to ASFA’s graduation tonight at the Alabama Theatre at 6:30 p.m.
Semester exams begin Monday, May 23, through Wednesday, May 25, at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Students are dismissed immediately following their exam or can stay to have lunch at noon. Students must leave campus by 1 p.m.
