I am a Birmingham native and began teaching at ASFA in 2006, joining the faculty full time in 2012.  While I came to ASFA initially to start a garden-based science course, my background in interdisciplinary studies has allowed me to work with students in each grade and specialty, teaching Geography, English, Civics, World History, Computer Applications, Communications, and Agriscience.  Before ASFA, I worked for many years in non-profit organizations, directing, developing and teaching educational programs for various environmental, arts, health, and children's causes.  

I hold a BA from UAB, certifications in Sustainable Agriculture and Cross Cultural Communications, and a Johnson Fellowship in Community Health.
