I am a graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts (class of 2005, Creative Writing) and of the University of Alabama (class of 2010, B.A. in Telecommunications and Film). 

 

For several years, I worked as a copy editor, page designer, online editor and the primary film writer for The Tuscaloosa News in Tuscaloosa, Ala. While employed at the News, I shared with the rest of the staff the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news journalism, awarded for our coverage of the April 27, 2011, tornado outbreak. I was also recognized in 2013 by the University of Alabama as an Outstanding Alumnus in Journalism.

 

In 2013, I began working at ASFA as an 8th and 9th grade English instructor. I am also a feature film programmer for the Sidewalk Film Festival and its independent cinema, located in the basement of the Pizitz Building in downtown Birmingham.
