2022-2023 Alabama School of Fine Arts Performance Season
See the students of Alabama School of Fine Arts in action! Performance, exhibits, and symposiums are part of the ASFA curriculum and are a way for students to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities. They also provide accessible arts and sciences experiences for the public. The performance season showcases mainstage dance, music, and theatre productions, readings, art exhibit openings, and research symposiums.

April 5, 2023, 5:30-7 pm: Senior Research Symposium (free event)
ASFA Math-Science Department seniors present their in-depth research projects. Formal student presentations are from 5:30 PM-7:00 PM in the DJD Theater.
April 6, 2023, 5:00-6:30 pm: Visual Arts Exhibit I Opening (free event in ASFA's Vulcan Materials Gallery)
A free art exhibition featuring works by the Class of 2023 ASFA Visual Arts Dept. Featuring sculpture, painting, drawing, and more.

April 14, 2023, 7 pm: Jazz Night
Our award-winning ASFA jazz ensemble and ladies' vocal ensemble present a thrilling end of the year jazz concert at the Carver Auditorium at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame!

April 27, 2023, 5:00-6:30 pm: Visual Arts Exhibit II Opening (free event in ASFA's Vulcan Materials Gallery).
A free art exhibition featuring works by the Class of 2023 ASFA Visual Arts Department. Featuring sculpture, painting, drawing, and more.

May 5-6, 2023, 7 pm & May 7, 2023, 2:30 pm: Spring Repertory Dance Performance.
This classical, modern, and contemporary dance performance packs a powerful punch as the grand finale of ASFA’s dance productions for the year.

May 12-13, 2023, 7 pm: Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
The ASFA Music Department presents a performance of one of the most powerful and recognizable choral works ever composed, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. The ASFA choir, ASFA alumni, guest choristers, and three locally loved vocal soloists (Cathy Spence, Dr. Patrick Evans and Roderick George), along with Dr. Lucy DeSa and alumnus Smith Williams on piano, come together to put on a show-stopping performance. This will be a highlight for all to end the 2022 – 2023 academic year.
