Congratulations to ASFA Math/Science students as they advance to Nationals for the American Chemical Society’s Chemistry Olympiad! McNair Shah, William Peng, and Ian Shen all competed on Sunday, April 2 in the Auburn Local Exam and had the three highest scores of all students participating.

The competition only allows two students to advance from any one high school, so top scorer William Peng followed by Ian Shen will compete for ASFA. The National Exam is a three-part exam administered by Auburn University and includes written portions as well as a laboratory portion.

More than 1,000 students nationwide will compete at Universities across the country, and the top 20 scoring students from this National Exam will advance to be trained in the summer for possible placement on the International Team. These students have worked all year to prepare for the exam and deserve a round of applause! Go ASFA!
